Our Story

My name is Sophia Plaisance, and I’m the founder of Glo Theater Company.

I grew up performing with Starz Theater Company in Colorado Springs, Colorado — an extraordinary program that shaped me in more ways than I can count. Through countless rehearsals, shows, and friendships, I learned the power of the arts to foster creativity, build real community, and grow lasting confidence. It was a place where excellence was pursued with joy, not pressure, and where we were encouraged to use our talents for something bigger than ourselves.

When I moved to California, I was surprised and saddened to find that nothing quite like Starz existed here in South Orange County — no theater company or dance studio that offered that same excellent, uplifting environment for kids and teens.

That’s why I started Glo Theater Company.

Glo is a youth theater company dedicated to creating meaningful, life-giving experiences in the performing arts. We focus on three core values: creativity, community, and confidence. Our environment is intentionally designed to be a place where kids can take risks, make friends, grow as performers, and discover the joy of using their gifts to glorify God.

Whether through musicals, plays, classes, or workshops, our goal is simple: to help create the same kind of formative, positive experience I had growing up — one that points their hearts toward the Creator and helps them shine in the way they were made to.
